Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 years to 28 years as on 01-04-2014. In simple words, candidates should have not been born earlier than 02-07-1985 and later than 01-07-1995 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable as per the Govt. rules.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess the qualification of Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent and must have passed local language i.e. Hindi as one of the subjects at Matriculation/ X Standard.

IBPS Score Card (CWE Cutoff Marks): Candidates who have been declared qualified in the RRBs-Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS during September and October 2013, they must have a valid score card where they obtained 95 and above for Gen/ OBC and 88 or above for SC/ ST for Office Assistant posts.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their marks obtained in RRBs-CWE-II online examination conducted by IBPS in the month of September/ October 2013 and then their performance in Interview.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which conducts recruitment examination on behalf of public sector banks, says the number of applications received has been a whopping 1 crore a year for the last two years. The number of posts was 50,000 on an average a year. The break-up, sources associated with the recruitment process say, is 20,000 officers and 30,000 clerical cadre posts.

Canara Bank recruitment this fiscal, Mr. Dubey said, was likely to exceed last year’s 7,800. State Bank of India was planning an online exam around June for selecting 1,897 probationary officers. State Bank of India has already issued SBI PO Notification for SBI Probationary Officers recruitment this year.

A key reason for the massive recruitment in the banking sector is the growing emphasis on financial inclusion — spreading to unbanked areas. With many employees who joined in 1970s retiring, more posts are falling vacant.

A senior banker, who did not want to be identified, attributed the popularity of bank jobs to the reasonable salaries, job security, improved status in society and the opportunity to serve customers. Recruitment by public sector banks was 50,000 for the past two years. The same pattern would continue for three more years, he added.

In terms of applications, there seems to be more from Bihar and States where job opportunities were relatively less compared with States where employment was available in manufacturing and services sectors. On the level of competition, the senior banker said the date of birth was the decider when hundreds of candidates were tied at the same score. Seniority in age gets them the job.

On the competition, a senior executive of BReT Solutions said that according to IBPS figures only 10 per cent of the estimated 2 crore candidates who took the examination got selected for interview. Of them, a mere 2.3 per cent got the final selection notice.

Chairman and managing director of BReT Solutions Ashok Hegde, a former general manager of Karnataka Bank, said in the absence of proper training, clearing the examinations was not easy.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 21 years for 30 years as on 01-04-2014. In other words candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-04-1984 to 01-04-1993 (Both days inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable as per the rules and it will be considered as on 01-01-2014.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualification of Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent examination from any recognized University.

Those who are in the Final year of Graduation/ Semester may also apply provisionally subjects to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 10-08-2014.

Application Fee: General and other unreserved candidates are required to pay Rs. 500/- while SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped/ PWD category candidates will have to pay Rs. 100/- as application fee. Application fee should be paid either through Online of Offline mode.

                                                                                   

Online Payment Mode: The system will generate a cash voucher/ challan form pre-printed with the candidate's details which will be required to be presented at any State Bank of India branch counter with the requisite fee. On payment of the requisite fee through computer generated challan form, registration of the online application will be complete.

Offline Payment Mode: The payment can be made by using debit card/ credit card/Internet Banking.

Application fee should be deposited in any branch of Odisha Gramya Bank or remit the fee through NEFT from any commercial bank branch.

Pay Scale: The starting basic pay is Rs. 16,900/- (With 4 increments) in the scale of Rs. 14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.

Cash Component: Rs. 34,320/-

Bank’s contribution to PF: Rs. 1690/-

Housing (Lease Rental): Rs. 29,500/-

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in written examination, Descriptive Test, Group Discussion and Interview.
