UPSC Geologist Exam 2014 – Apply Online for 265 Geologist & Geo-Scientist Posts:UPSC Geologist Recruitment 2014 announced. The much awaited UPSC Geologist Exam notification is here. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a notification for conducting Combined Geologist & Geo- Scientist Examination 2014 for the recruitment of 265 Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and Junior Hydrogeologist Posts. Eligible and interested candidates may apply through online mode from 1st March to 31st March 2014. Category I: Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines

1.) Geologist: 260 Posts

• Geologist Group A: 100 Posts
• Geophysicist Group A: 80 Posts
• Chemist Group A: 80 Posts

Category II: Posts in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources

2.) Geo-Scientist: 05 Posts

• Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) Group A: 05 Posts

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates age limit should be 21 years to 32 years as on 01-08-2014 in other words candidates should be born between 02-08-1982 to 01-08-1993 for Geologist Posts while Age should be 21 to 35 years as on 01-08-2014 & should be born between 02-08-1979 to 01-08-1993 for Geo-Scientist Posts. Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government rules and regulations.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must possess the qualification of Masters Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology etc in relevant discipline from any recognized university for Geologist Posts, M.Sc in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc (Geophysics) etc in relevant discipline form a University for Geophysicist Posts, M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from an University for Chemist Posts, Masters Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from university for Junior Hydro-geologist Posts.

Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay Rs. 200/- while SC/ ST/ Ex-serviceman category candidates are exempted from paying application fee.

Application fee should be paid through depositing money into any branch of SBI by cash or Net Banking of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ Mysore/ Patiala/ Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in written examination, interview and personal interview.

How to Apply: All those candidates who wish to apply for Geologist posts through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), they are required to apply through online mode by filling online application form on its official website at www.upsconline.nic.in from 1st March to 31st March 2014. Follow the instructions on how to apply online for UPSC exam.

Online Application Form: Before start applying online, make sure candidates have valid E-mail ID and scanned copies of photo and signatures.

1. Visit UPSC’s official website at www.upsconline.nic.in/
2. There will two state, candidates need to complete both of them stages Part-I & Part-II for online application.
3. Now Pay the Online or offline payment & keep the slip for the future reference.
4. Read all the Instruction carefully & fill all the relevant details carefully.
5. Make sure candidates have a scanned signature & photograph in .jpg format.
6. Please check your mail frequently & ensure that the email address ending with @nic.in are directed to INBOX not to SPAM or any other folder.
7. After filling the application submit & and take the print out of application for the further use.
