Skills:- Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools A good understanding of the windows operating system A good knowledge of the physical database design Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios A good knowledge of Oracle security management A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources A good knowledge Oracle data integrity Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems Experience in code migration. database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle A DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators Provide a strategic database direction for the organization. The successful candidate for this position will provide direct support to faculty on a wide range of operational and technical issues in their use of Learning Management System Moodle. Skills: In a team-oriented environment, the responsibilities of the Moodie Specialist will include, but are not limited to : Develop, coordinate and offer a comprehensive program of training and support materials for Moodie and its integrated tools; Assist faculty with making their course sites ready each term; Assist faculty in exploring the broad range of functions within Moodie; Monitor and take appropriate action to resolve faculty requests for support via telephone, email, ticketing system and in person; Reach out to departments and colleges to determine needs, and to inform planning, on-going training and support, feature development, and usability; Collaborate with School for Excellence in Learning and Teaching on orienting faculty to good instructional design principles.
