Applications are invited from eligible candidates to fill-up below mentioned 94
backlog temporary posts of Constables for SC category in Chandigarh Police in
the pay scale of Rs. 10300-34800 + (Grade Pay of Rs. 3200) with usual allowances
as admissible from time to time, under the rules:-

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:-
(A) Age 18 to 28 years (as on 01.01.2013)
Relaxation:-
I Relaxable up to the maximum age of 45 years for Ex-servicemen as
on the cut-of date prescribed for the recruitment as on 01.01.2013,
provided break in service does not exceed two years from the date
of discharge from army as on cut off date.
II Five years relaxations for Horne Guard Volunteers provided they are
working/on roll continuously for the last 2 years or more, as on
01.01.2013 as under:-
i) 2 years relaxation in age to those Home Guard Volunteers
who are working/on roll continuously for 2 years or more as on
01.01.2013;
ii) 3 years relaxation in age to those Home Guard Volunteers
who are working/on roll continuously for 3 years or more as on
01.01.2013;
iii) 4 years relaxation in age to those Home Guard Volunteers
who are working/on roll continuously for 4 years or more as on
01.01.2013;
iv) 5 years relaxation in age to those Home Guard Volunteers
who are working/on roll continuously for 5 years or more as on
01.01.2013;
Note: To avail relaxation in age, as above, the candidate has
to submit a certificate from District Commandant,
Home Guards, in prescribed form as and when asked
for during or after the recruitment process.)
III Two years relaxation for wards (sons and daughters only) of working
or retired or deceased (except dismissed, compulsory retired or
removed from service) Chandigarh Police employees.
IV Three years relaxation for wards (sons and daughters only) of
Chandigarh Police employees, died while in service.
(B) Minimum Education Qualification 10+2
(C) Height 5’.7’’
(D) Chest only for Male 33’’ (with expansion of one
and half inch)
i) 2" relaxation (either in Height or in Chest) to the wards (sons and
daughters only) of working/retired/deceased (except dismissed,
compulsory retired or removed from service) Chandigarh Police
employees will be available. Not more than two wards (Sons and
daughters) will be entitled to claim relaxation in height or chest.
ii) 2" relaxation in height to the resident of hill area will be available on
production of certificate (at the time Physical Measurement Test) to this
effect (Hill Area Certificate) issuer by the Competent Authority i.e.
DC/DM/SDM or Tehsildar of their Place of hill area residence.
iii) A candidate will be eligible to clai relaxation of physical standard either
as a Chandigarh Police Ward or as a Hill Area Candidate.
iv) For claiming relaxations, as above, please consult Standing Order
available on the Chandigarh Police website www.chandigarhpolice.nic.in
- The crucial/cut-of date for all purposes such as minimum educational
qualification, determining the age of the candidates, etc. will be treated
as 1st January 2013. The candidates till submit their application on-line on
the website of Chandigarh Police by 15.11.2013 and will send
downloaded hard copy of application alongwith copy of SC Certificate
(Self Attested) and original Bank Draft of Rs.200/- (in favour of Section
Officer/Accounts, UT Police Hqrs. Payable at Chandigarh) by registered
post to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lines, Sector-26 Chandigarh
on or before 30.11.2013. Only "on-line" applications would be accepted.
- There is no need to attach any other documents i.e. testimonials, DOB
certificate etc. with application. All such documents will be checked at
the time of interview.
- Only on-line applications would be accepted. Candidates can apply
online
till 15.11.2013 and the last date 30.11.2013 is only for the purpose of
sending download hard copy of application form through registered post
or to deposit in Police Lines, Sedor-26, Chandigarh.
- Candidates are advised to go throJ9h the guidelines/instructions for filling
in the application forms (On-line) as well as Standing Order governing the
recruitment of constables in Chandigarh Police containing detailed
criteria/eligibility conditions etc., which is available on the Chandigarh
Police website www.chandigarhpolice.nic.in The candidates can also
download/print copies of the guidelines/instructions as well as the
Standing Order from the above Chandigarh Police website.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will
tentatively start in the month of February, 2014 in Police Lines, Sector 26,
Chandigarh followed by Written Test, Driving Test & Interview. The
Schedule for PET/PMT will be available on the official website of
Chandigarh Police www.chandigarhpolice.nic.in in the month of January
2014. The candidates are advised to check the schedule for PET/PMT in
January-2014 on the website of Chandigarh Police. No separate
intimation regarding PET/PMT will be sent to individual candidates.
- The selected candidates on their appointment as Constable can be
deployed in any unit of Chandigarh Police i.e. Police Lines, Traffic, CIO,
Operations Cell, Security, Police Stations, IRS etc. and anywhere in India.
On-Line submission of application forms on the website of Chandigarh
Police www.chandigarhpolice.nic.in will' start w.e.f. 01.10.2013.
